Visiting a New Niece and her Family

This is Daphne Rebecca. She was born in May, so you can see this welcome is quite belated. But she is welcome to earth nonetheless! We were lucky to go out for her baby blessing on June 1st in Central Illinois. What a special time and a special baby. She really is a sweetheart.

Here is the Memorial Day picnic hosted by Jackie and Neal. You can see Daphne's gorgeous momma, Amy, wearing the snuggly wrap where Daphne's little head is peeking out. That's a proud Grandpa Ed and Uncle Alex on the right side of the pic. It was a fun and yummy dinner!

Here is Amy, barely a week after giving birth, planting a garden! (with lots of Grandpa's help though he's not in the picture). Can we say, "Amazing?"!?! Of course the other two kids needed to get in on the action.

This is Daphne's adorable big sister, Hazel. She is all wet from playing in the Elmo Sprinkler and watering their new garden. She was SO cute and excited dancing in that water! Hazel is a big help at home and I'm so happy that she has a sister to share all of her growing up years with!

And here is big brother, Asher, playing on the playground. He found the slide great fun and loved crawling UP the slide as well as sliding DOWN and landing ker-PLOP on the ground. Helping his trucks slide UP and DOWN was thrilling as well. What a cutiepie!

Daphne's dad, Ephraim, is shown here sporting his bike helmet. Even in crazy temperatures and midwest humidity, he bravely (and sweatily) rode back and forth from school every day. Eph is a huge help at home and a fantastic daddy. It took at least two of us to replace him helping Amy as Eph was busy studying for his boards around the time that Daphne was born. By the way - he passed!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so proud of you, Eph. You are amazing!

Here is happy Uncle Tony with a cute little baby girl. Look at those tiny little feet and hands (the baby's, not Tony's!) Tony and I were so pleased to meet Daphne and catch up with her fun family. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this special little darling.
