We got back last week from a trip to Utah. I had to go for my regular July work meetings, so Tony decided to come out near the end of the meetings and we spent some time with my parents. If there was anything in the Salt Lake Valley that Tony hadn't done before, I think we covered it on this trip! Thanks to my parents for putting us up, putting up with us, and lending us the car to get around. We had a great time! Here are the events through Tony's lens.
View from our hotel room. Mountains, mountains everywhere - and Tony couldn't stop taking pictures of the gorgeous things.
Mom, Tony, me at WGU graduation at Kingsbury Hall. It was fun to have Tony meet my friends and co-workers this time around, and it was SO wonderful having him there to see the fruits of our labors - our great graduates! We even met a graduate from our home town here in PA!
Up Emigration Canyon - we ate at Ruth's Diner (seen in this pic). It was a beautiful day and great food! We ate inside the original trolley car area. This fulfilled one of our goals for the trip - to visit somewhere that had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network. We highly recommend Ruth's!
The torch from the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics at Rice Stadium at the U of Utah. Mom parked in middle of the street to let Tony take this one. Who knew he could get her to drive Philly-style in Utah??? More to come.... Stay tuned, kids!
Hey! You can go to places featured in Diners, Drive-Ins and Drives without leaving the great state of PA! We went to the Dining Car in Northeast Philly because we saw it on that show, and now I go every year for my birthday! I highly recommend that one as well (if you didn't already know about it).
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to meet Tony in person! And I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Ruth's. You know we're regulars there as we go up & down the canyon visiting my brother's house.
